February is here, and there's plenty to love around the Bay Area, as we all gear up for the long President's Weekend and Valentine's Day. Can we please get more snow in Tahoe before then?
January had a strong showing for those homes prepped over the holidays and were listed early. They were rewarded with multiple offers and shorter days on market than in previous months. The Spring market is almost here (right after the Super Bowl), and with 30-year fixed mortgage rates not budging off of the low 6% range, we anticipate more buyers ready to buy if they have been waiting for rates to drop. With Kevin Worsh, nominated as Federal Reserve Chairman starting in May, we'll have to see if he starts to move interest rates more quickly as anticipated.
